Wednesday’s News from Alquentera

Despite an improvement in the weather, the Club’s fortunes didn’t quite follow suit and the boy’s went down by 4 matches to 2 to England’s Burhill Golf Club on Wednesday.

It was a closer encounter than the score suggests with 2 of the games going to the last hole.

Sky TV were following play yesterday and whilst not usually being one for the limelight, Euan Valentine took the opportunity to chip in for the cameras.  Let’s hope that doesn’t end up on the cutting room floor.

Today sees the team taking on Greenmeadow Golf Club in the final series of matches and hopefully they can round off the week with a strong performance.

In the final, fellow Scots Murrayfield are up against The Vale Resort – we wish both teams well.

After today’s matches there’ll be a final dinner and presentation of prizes, then it’ll be time to get the bags packed for Friday’s trip home.

We mentioned at the outset that the weather had improved and through the power of Twitter we’ve picked up that at least one team member wishes he’d taken some advice and used a bit more sun cream yesterday – he’s definitely using aftersun now!

We’ll provide a final round-up tomorrow.  In the meantime, you can hopefully keep up with results through @juniorteamgolf on Twitter.
